How I've been feeling...

I have been thinking a lot lately about our move here. Originally I was not happy about the move; about leaving NC, about being so far away from our parents and mawmaw, about leaving the south. I really felt that we would come back to NC after Dave was done with school so that was my out. I thought i can do anything for a few years and then we will be done. I had no intention of liking it here. I was going to enjoy life while I was here, but not settle down here.
I hated for people to say things like Oh, you must miss NC, it is so great there. (yadayada). It made me just want to go back that much more.
I have been totally blown away at how God has changed my heart. I love it here. I really do like living here and have no desire to move back to NC. I am content with my life here.
Since we left Charlotte, I have been praying for good friends. I made some in Winston but it took awhile for me to let myself get close to them. By the time I did, we were moving again. We have made some really good friends here and I cant imagine leaving them already and its only been 9 months. A lot of us have young kids so it is awesome to do life together and learn from each other. I feel comfortable sharing my successes and failures and being able to laugh or cry with them.
I really like church. I fought it for awhile and pointed out the negatives, but overall the positives far outweigh the negatives and I really enjoy it. Jeremiah seems to really like it here and has some good friends as well. The people we are friends with actually hang out and do things, which we love.
I do miss our families but I know we will see them as much as we can. I am jealous of people that have families here to help with the kids and things, but I know also, that we can manage it alone.
Ohio is not nearly as bad as I imagined (or hoped). I am very thankful in the way God steered us.
I can actually imagine Jeremiah going to school here, which is something I never have been able to before. I can imagine us buying a house, which has always been very scary for us. (We have this fear of commitment.) I am just thankful and glad we are here and wanted to share.

Easter '08

Nana and Pop came to visit us for Easter. Dave and I had a nice date night with a bunch of friends Friday night and we did an adult easter egg hunt Saturday. We didnt win any cool prizes though, just candy. Jeremiah went with Nana and Pop to see Horton Hears a Hoo Saturday afternoon. Of course basketball was on the entire weekend. Sunday we went to church and i cooked Easter dinner that evening. We had ham, sweet potatoes, corn casserole, green beans and deviled eggs. It was pretty good if i may say so myself. We ended our weekend by going to see the Bodies display at the museum. It was interesting to say the least.

It is so hard to believe that this time last year, we were taking the first picture of the family of four, our first family picture with me being pregnant. Look how life has changes in a year.

For Tricia

Being a mom is the best. I know it must be hard to not be able to be with your baby now but you have so much to look forward to. Some of my favorites are:
- Christmas morning- the excitement and innocence of little ones
-The best vacation to Disney World- the overwhelming awe they have(and us)
-The first time he rolls over
-His first giggle
-His snuggling up on you
-When they need their mommy when they are sick
-When they say I love you mama.
-Trips to grandmas for the weekend
-baby drool(love it/hate it)
-falling in love all over again with your husband just watching him interact with them
-the pride you feel when people compliment them
-Taking family pictures and feeling complete

We missed the snow

We traveled to VA this weekend for the boys(Dave, Danny, Buddy and Jeremiah) to have a boys weekend at the lake and for me to throw a baby shower and next thing I know it is snowing 12 inches in Cincinnati. I hate we missed it. Jeremiah would have loved it. We were so looking forward to making a big snowman and snowcream. Oh well. Hopefully we will be able to drive home tomorrow.

Thomas Gray Smiling

they still arent as good as in person but there is just something about the camera that makes him serious.

Thomas' bumbo and johnny jump up

I have been looking at this Bumbo seat and thought Thomas would like it becasue he always wants to sit up, not recline. This was made so that baby could sit up without having all the strength they need. He is so cute in it.

Thomas is still a little too small for the johnny jump up. He just hangs out in it.

good times at the museum with daddy

We went to the museum on Friday and has a great time. Unfortunately, Jeremiah must have picked up a bug because he had the stomach bug all night Saturday.
