I love Andy Stanley. He is my favorite preacher. I love to hear his sermons and then to write notes on them. Here are my notes on the sermon about sex if you are interested.

1Thessalonians 4:
V1- FINALLY, BROTHERS, WE INSTRUCTED YOU HOW TO LIVE IN ORDER TO PLEASE GOD, AS IN FACT YOU ARE LIVING. NOW WE ASK YOU AND URGE YOU IN THE LORD JESUS TO DO THIS MORE AND MORE.
V2-FOR YOU KNOW WHAT INSTRUCTIONS WE GAVE YOU BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE LORD JESUS
V3-IT IS GOD'S WILL THAT YOU SHOULD BE SANCTIFIED: THAT YOU SHOULD AVOID SEXUAL IMMORALITY;
Santified =conformed to the image of Jesus Christ
Sexual sin causes you to put up a front.
What we do with people we eventually do with God.
PURITY PAVES THE WAY TO INTIMACY!
MORAL PURITY LEADS TO INTIMACY.
What you do now sets you up for your level of intimacy !
Sex outside of marriage reeks havic on your ability to enjoy true intimacy.
Sex has the ability to affect not only your body, but also your heart, mind and soul.
V4THAT EACH OF YOU SHOULD LEARN TO CONTROL HIS OWN BODY IN A WAY THAT IS HOLY AND HONORABLE, Our body deserves to be treated with respect.
It is precious! We need to control our body in a way that reflects the respect our body deserves.
Prolonged sexual sin causes us to chip away on the respect and value we should have for our body!)
Self- control comes from the holy spirit, not from self.
V5NOT IN PASSIONATE LUST LIKE THE HEATHEN, WHO DO NOT KNOW GOD;
V6- …NO ONE SHOULD WRONG HIS BROTHER OR TAKE ADVANTAGE OF HIM ( trespass or wrong your brother)
I am responsible for my moral conduct as well as how I influence you in your moral conduct.
Ex: The way women dress affects the men’s santification
We should push men toward God not push them away from Him by distracting them. We have power.
If we want to attract men for the right reasons, we need to attract them to our eyes. You can see someone’s soul through their eyes.
V7- FOR GOD DID NOT CALL US TO BE IMPURE. HE INVITED US TO LIVE A HOLY LIFE.
There is a relationship between your purity and your ability to see God.
V8- …THEREFORE HE WHO REJECTS THIS INSTRUCTION DOES NOT REJECT MAN, BUT GOD WHO GIVES YOU HIS HOLY SPIRIT.
God’s will for us is our sanctification!
4 ways to get back to here God can rebuild you:

1- embrace Gods standard ( realize sex is for married people ONLY)
2- confession to God and to the people you have hurt through your immorality
3- distance yourself from those things/people that cause you to sin
4- Truth- read/memorize scripture (LOTS of it) Truth clears up confusion. Truth brings healing and healing can lead to intimacy!

2 Corinthians 10-5- we are destroying speculation and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of God.
